The Shire of Blackwood, located in the areas surrounding Monroe, Louisiana, is a local chapter of the SCA.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th century European history and crafts. Blackwood belongs to the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann which covers Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Memphis, TN.
